Vail Colorado – Homes for Vacation and Living
Vail Colorado is simply an amazing city in the United States. Vacationers come here because it is a fantastic place to be for their vacation time – it does not matter if it is for summer, fall or winter. There are things to do for any season now. Summer has become so much more popular over the past few years – it has been amazing to watch and be a part of.
Our family came to Vail in the winter of 2003 for a ski vacation that turned into a snowboarding vacation. I had never experienced skiing or snowboarding but Michele had been skiing for years. Since we heard that snowboarding was ‘easier to learn’, we took lessons.
By the way, our first experience of lodging in Vail was at the Evergreen lodge. The place was packed with vacationers. We spent all day on the mountain so the accommodations were not that important to us. We got up each day at 7 to ready ourselves, were on the mountain from open to close and were back in our hotel room and sleeping by 8pm (we were exhausted — the powder was fun but a lot of work!).
Michele knew the importance of taking ski lessons so that we would have confidence in our ability. We took snowboard lessons from the wonderful instructors at Vail Resorts. Luckily for us, it was snowing heavily and our first experience here was on several feet of pristine powder. When it snows as much as it did then, you cannot help but feel that you are in a winter wonderland.
The Town of Vail is a Home Rule Municipality in Eagle County, Colorado, United States. The population of the town was 5,305 in 2010. The town was established and built as the base village to Vail Ski Resort, with which it was originally conceived. Vail Ski Resort’s first season was in December, 1962; it is the third largest ski mountain in North America (after Whistler Blackcomb and Big Sky).
